There are six sides to the I Street Bridge, East/West, up/down, and past/present.

The bridge spans the Sacramento River just north of the more recognizable Tower Bridge, so named for the two towers that raise and lower the road deck for passing boats. The I Street Bridge was built in 1911 as a swing bridge where the deck rotates to allow boat passage.
